Stainless Steel Mounted Units
Stainless Steel Corrosion Resistant Platinum Series feature stainless steel insert bearings and stainless housings for unparalleled resistance to moisture, corrosion and abrasion. The effects of moisture, sterilization processes, mild corrosive elements, organic chemicals and oxidizing agents have been minimized, thereby increasing bearing life while reducing operating costs. With wash-down applications in mind our stainless housings are made from 304 fine grain stainless steel and are media tumbled, providing an exceptionally smooth and cleanable surface. The design for the 2-bolt flange (SSUCFL), 3-bolt (SSUCFB) and 4-bolt flange (SSUCF) feature solid back construction which not only increases strength, but reduces cavities and the potential for bacteria build-up. The pillow block (SSUCP) and tapped base (SSUCPA) also feature solid base construction for increased stability and durability.

Stainless Steel Mounted Units for food applications
Stainless Corrosion Resistant Mounted Units are ideal for food service applications with maximum operating temperatures of 338-degrees Fahrenheit. The 440C grade stainless steel insert bearings are filled with Mobil FM 222 NSF H1 food grade grease for use in HACCP compliant facilities. The slinger, retainer, grease fitting and set screws are made from 304 stainless for improved corrosion resistance. The ball retainers are 316 series stainless steel to complete the corrosion resistant design.

Sealing System
The sealing system consists of a metal backed silicon rubber barrier seal that is designed to block dirt & moisture from entry while retaining the synthetic lubricant in the critical ball track cavity. The metal backed silicon rubber seal snaps into a groove in the outer race, preventing contact with the ball bearing retainer while improving the seal. The insert bearing’s unique construction is further enhanced by positioning a slinger that rotates with the outer bearing ring in front of the seal. This stainless steel slinger creates a labyrinth barrier channel, which when teamed with the silicon seal creates this sealing system that protects the critical bearing races.
